Nitin Gadkari to jumpstart crucial road work worth INR 3, 000 crore in Yavatmal district


According to sources, the Union Transport Minister will be flagging off an ambitious road project involving the broadening and construction of both bridges and roads in the Yavatmal district. This 768 km project has received allocation of INR 2873.15 crore.

 

Nitin Gadkari will be performing the bhoomi puja of these road work projects on Wednesday according to official reports. According to Yavatmal MLA Madan Yerawar, Gadkari had sanctioned a sum of 2873.15 crore for the broadening and construction of several roads in addition to building bridges. The entire project covers a distance of 768 kilometres as per official estimates.

 

According to the MLA, the money would be used for constructing a new four lane national highway running between Tuljapur and Nagpur which would run through the city. This would definitely be a huge boost for the transport and industrial sectors according to experts. Additionally, there will be newer bypass roads that will be constructed along with roads in rural areas. Bridges will also be constructed in Umarkhed and Mahagaon tehsils. The entire project will bring forth several job opportunities for unemployed citizens and will also help the administration with regard to preventing farmer suicides according to the MLA.
