The Jaguar XE luxury sports sedan has received an update for 2016 and will come with an optional all wheel drive system. This will initially be available for the eight speed automatic transmission system of the car or the 2.0 litre diesel Ingenium 178 BHP XE models. The AWD system adds 110 kg to the overall weight of the car and mostly functions as a rear drive system when in regular driving conditions for saving fuel. The car also comes with an intelligent Driving Dynamics software program that sends torque to the front wheels in case of low traction situations. AWD models will also come with Adaptive Surface Response systems that alter suspension settings and throttle based on road conditions.

The all new XE will also come with the InControl Touch Pro or innovative infotainment system. This has a 10.2 inch display unit and 60 GB of storage. Additionally, this also comes with Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity for eight devices at a time and a dead-reckoning navigation mechanism that will function even when GPS signals are lost. Driver aids in the car include an assist for lane keeping and a speed limiter that is adaptive and changes car speeds based on allowed speed limits. Jaguar has also come out with an app for users of the Apple Watch which allows checking of car fuel levels, climate control settings and location checking apart from remote starting of the car engine. This new XE will be competing with its regular rival, the BMW 3 series.
