Honda has been giving us a string of updated 2016 models in the build up to the 2015 EICMA show in Milan. The 2016 Honda CB 500F joins the list of models that would get upgrades for the 2016 model year. As with most of the updated motorcycles for 2016, even the CB 500F sees only a modest set of changes.

The new 2016 Honda CB 500F gets a more “Mechanical and Aggressive” styling. The teaser image from Honda for the new CB 500F is again a low-exposure image of the bike with highlighted styling cues. This time the photo editor has taken extra time and care to completely darken the features in the image unlike earlier.

Both the new 2016 Honda CB 500F and the fully faired CBR 500R fall under the A2-license middle-weight category which is aimed at entry-level bikers who would like to get started with motorcycling. Again very much in-line with the updated bikes we have already seen from Honda, the CB 500F will get new externally pre-load adjustable front suspension, LED tail-lamps, adjustable brake levers, revised compact atypical cross section exhaust design, hinged fuel tank cap and a new front cowl with LED headlight assembly. The new CB 500F will also see an increased fuel tank capacity of 16.7 litres which is 1 litre more than the current model.

The 2016 Honda CB 500F comes with the same engine as the CB 500X. The 471cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC engine gives out 46.9 BHP at 8,500 RPM and 43 Nm of torque at 7,000 RPM. The engine is mated to a six speed transmission which is further refined for 2016 with better gear change feel like the new CBR 500R. The wet weight of the bike is 190kg and it can propel to a top end of 168km/h.

Along with the CB 500F, Honda also have released images of the new Honda NC750S for the 2016 model year. The new NC750S takes on the “Deep Mass Forward Proportion and Enhanced Sportiness” styling concept. The 2016 NC750S will also have upgrades similar to the NC700X with Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), newly designed compact atypical cross section exhaust and more.

Both the 2016 Honda CB500F and the NC750S will be unveiled at the 2015 EICMA in Milan next week. Alongside these two new motorcycles, joining the unveiling will be the NC700X, CB500X, 750cc Integra scooter and other models. Honda plans to launch these bikes in the North American and European markets.
