Mahindra Imperio gets January 2016 launch

In a major development for the Indian commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra & Mahindra will be releasing its new Imperio or the face lifted version of the Genio in early January, 2016.

Mahindra & Mahindra is one of India’s biggest draws both when it comes to new and 2nd hand cars and commercial vehicles. The company has also announced a blueprint for launching a new family of pickup trucks under its Imperio banner. The new pickup will further boost the market leadership of the company in the small commercial vehicle category according to industry experts.

The Mahindra Imperio has been planned and developed in-house by the company at its Research Valley in Chennai. The vehicle will be manufactured at the company’s own facility at Chakan in Pune. This will be taking on rivals like the Isuzu D-Max pickup and will be using a similar engine as the present Genio. This is the diesel 2.5 litre engine that dishes out 75 HP of power and is combined with five speed manual transmission. The vehicle will be made more efficient and stylish to cater to the needs of new age customers. M&M definitely seems to have a winning proposition on its hands.
