All New Hyundai Tucson Could Get India Launch

The new Hyundai Tucson is set to be sold via the CBU route and comes with the Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design from Hyundai.

Hyundai India is planning for an India launch of the Tucson SUV. The all new Tucson is the only SUV from the company which is currently not available in domestic markets. The third generation model was showcased at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and comes with a contemporary design that is quite similar to the flagship Santa Fe. The car is called the TL globally and gets a revamped hexagonal front grille along with elongated headlamps running to the fenders from the grille in addition to stylish new fog lamp enclosures with two way lighting components.

The car is curvy and length is enhanced by de-linking the bonnet from the A pillar. The sculpted haunches at the rear and wheel arches make it look quite sporty and attractive indeed. According to company sources, the new Tucson is the future for design and showcases the new look complete with headlights and grille. The interiors receive a two part layout and an eight inch touch screen. The car is spacious and comfortable and comes with features like automatic parking, drive mode selector, blind spot assist, lane keeping assist, autonomous emergency braking and a smart powered tailgate that can open if you wave your foot under the same.

The car should come with the 1.7 litre 114 BHP diesel engine that is seen on the i30 and the sportier 2.0 litre 182 BHP engine that has been tuned to meet Euro VI guidelines. Dual clutch gearboxes will be offered for petrol variants while six speed automatic transmission systems will be available for diesel models. Hyundai should initially be importing this car with starting prices of around INR 18 lakh which will help it edge out the Honda CR-V. The car should witness higher success than models like the Sonata as per sources.
