Volkswagen Vento Given The Top Safety Rating in Latin NCAP Tests

The Indian made facelifted version of the Volkswagen Vento has scored the top rating of five stars in terms of safety for adult occupant protection in the Latin NCAP crash tests conducted.

The Vento has been equipped with dual front airbags, seat belt pretensioners, ISOFIX child occupant protection and ABS. The Latin NCAP has commented that the frontal impact on passenger and driver heads was well protected by their respective airbags. Both the seatbelts were equipped with load limiters and pretensioners. The passenger knee areas also did not show critical structures while the driver knees have hard contact with steering column. The body shell was stated to be stable and capable of withstanding further load. The model could fulfil the requirements of UN95 side impact test.

When it comes to child occupant protection, the Vento has been given a three star rating, mainly for the positioning of ISOFIX anchorage points and absence of warning marking for installing child restraint system in frontal passenger seats.
