Husqvarna 701 Enduro Unveiled

2016 Husqvarna 701 Enduro unveiled

The Swedish motorcycle manufacturer, Husqvarna, have officially unveiled the Husqvarna 701 Enduro motorcycle to the public. The Enduro version of the 701 follows the recent official release of the 701 Supermoto which took centre stage last month.

As expected, the Husqvarna 701 Enduro will sport the same 690cc single-cylinder engine platform as the 701 Supermoto. This motorcycle would be the second offering from Husqvarna in its foray back into making motorcycles for the street.

Husqvarna say that the 701 Enduro has been built from scratch to develop an industry leading motorcycle in terms of power, weight, technology and performance. This comes around as a result of their vast knowledge from decades of Enduro World Championship-winning success.

The Husqvarna 701 Enduro features class-leading technology such as dual spark plug ignition, selectable engine maps and ride-by-wire-throttle. This allows the motorcycle to have a perfectly linear power delivery with crisp throttle response which would allow the bike to be used by riders of all levels comfortably and confidently off-road and also on-road. The A2 specific engine map limits the power output which would also allow the Husqvarna 701 Enduro to be ridden by A2 license holders.

The 701 Enduro is designed to be reliable and efficient with high-tech applications such as active crankcase evacuation and forced lubrication system to reduce friction and pump losses. With these features in place the service intervals come at 10,000 km while also offering greater fuel efficiency.

The frame of the Husqvarna 701 Enduro uses lightweight high-grade chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame developed to offer optimum feedback for both on-road and off-road use. The suspension is from WP Performance and the closed-cartridge 4CS front forks and fully adjustable rear monoshocks are matched and tuned specifically for the 701 Enduro.

The bike features brakes from Brembo with advanced ABS system with off-road settings. Along with the hydraulically operated clutch the bike guarantees good control in all conditions. The Husqvarna 701 Enduro gets DID rims as standard fitted with Continental TKC 80 tyres on the 21 inch front and 18 inch rear wheels.

The 701 Enduro has an extensive range of Husqvarna Motorcycle accessories specifically developed and designed for the bike to improve its capabilities and for customization. The Husqvarna 701 Enduro will be available from November 2015 in Europe while the US and Canadian markets will see the bike in their dealerships by February of 2016.
