Isuzu MU-7

Japanese automaker Isuzu are set to launch the automatic version of the MU-7 SUV in the Indian market to give it better appeal against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

The large Japanese SUV is powered by a 2,999cc, four-cylinder common-rail turbo-diesel engine sending 161bhp and 36.7 kgm of torque to the rear wheels, and this powertrain is likely to be retained for the automatic version. There will be no 4WD.

The MU-7 is one of the largest SUVs in its class with an overall length of 4,955mm making it much bigger than Toyota’s Fortuner. Features on offer include leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 10-speaker audio system, reversing camera, ABS with EBD, two airbags, remote locking, a trip computer, electric mirrors and projector headlamps and faux wood panelling among others.

The Mu-7 is currently already sold in two trims – Base and High with prices starting at Rs 21.83 lakh ex-showroom, Delhi.
