Research Institutes
CSIR Labs (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) offers JRF (Junior Research Fellowships) and SRF (Senior Research Fellowship) to students based on their GATE scores. These are stipend-based fellowships and the stipend ranges between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000.

Recruitment in PSUs
Public Sector Undertakings such as BPCL, Power Grid, TCIL, MECL, MECON, GAIL, DDA, BEL, BHEL, NALCO, NHPC, NTPC, HPCL, IOCL, CONCOR offer engineering jobs to students through gate. This is because GATE tests your analytical and logical reasoning skills along with your technical skills. The roles offered by these companies are Management Trainee and Executive Trainee.
