The existing Genio brand has been face lifted by Mahindra & Mahindra and the spy images of the all new model were recently revealed to the delight of pick-up and commercial vehicle enthusiasts.
The Genio has always been a popular vehicle for Mahindra & Mahindra in the commercial segment. The company has now upgraded the Genio brand with an all new look which will be filtered down through the total Ingenio platform line up as well. Mahindra has thought of bolstering the Genio with a new look grille at the front and this will be taken forward onto the all new Quanto (face lifted) model as well.
The Genio is a capable pickup truck and it comes with a diesel 2.5 litre engine. Mahindra is thinking of bringing down overall weight of new generation vehicles to make them quicker, lighter and more fuel efficient. The company is also thinking of measures to bring down overall emissions produced in case of new generation commercial and passenger vehicles alike. The Quanto facelift and Genio will get these updates first and this will then be carried forward to the all new Mahindra Xylo too.
Mahindra is aggressively ramping up its market share and is considering a facelift for the Bolero pick-up too. There may be more variants added for all these commercial and passenger models alike. Several downsized and fuel efficient engines may well be integrated into Mahindra’s bouquet of commercial vehicles in 2016. The all new Genio should be launched in 2016 while the Verito electric and S101 will also be launched next year. The Scorpio automatic, XUV500 facelift and TUV300 have already been launched this year.
