As per industry reports, the all new Mahindra XUV100 or S101 crossover is set to be launched in the Indian car market at the highly awaited Auto Expo in Delhi in 2016. This compact SUV has been code named S101 and has been spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads.
The S101 will be coming with a monocoque chassis and will be priced at less than INR 4 lakh as per industry sources. This will sit just below the TUV300 in Mahindra line up and will be competing against the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R hatchback. This will be Mahindra’s cheapest product in the Indian market and should be a six seater vehicle with both front and rear areas getting bench type arrangements. The gear lever will be integrated onto the dashboard in order to make extra space for three people in front.
This all new compact crossover will come with the all new 1.2 litre three cylinder diesel and petrol engines. The company should also be unfurling a 1.5 litre mHawk 80 diesel engine variant that is used in the TUV300 as well. The transmission options should include an AMT unit along with a 5 speed manual gearbox. The compact SUV has been revealed to possess a silver garnished central console and will come with projector headlamps, fog lamps, aggressive body creases and electrically operated ORVMs. 15 inch wheels will be fitted onto the vehicle as per reports. The list of features on offer should comprise of a foldable centre seat, touch screen infotainment system, ESC, ABS with EBD, dual airbags and climate control.
