The brand new TVS Apache was recently spotted testing in the country. The bike that was spied testing looks quite similar to the 250cc Draken Concept from TVS that was unveiled at the Auto Expo in 2014. There is no exact technical information available but the bike does seem to come with a 150-200cc engine and is mostly likely to be the attractive new Apache.

TVS Motors has started testing this new behemoth on Indian roads which certainly seems to be the Apache. This should be the 2016 Apache and closely resembles the Draken Concept. The next generation Apache comes with the same five spoke alloy wheels, petal discs and front mud guard design that were witnessed on the Concept earlier. The rear view mirrors and headlight cowl resemble the earlier Apache though. The bike also comes with split seats, another aspect that was witnessed on the Draken Concept.

The Draken comes with a liquid cooled, 250cc unit which dishes out 39 PS at 12, 000 rpm and 23 Nm at 9, 500 rpm. The new TVS Apache might come with an engine that displaces between 200 and 250cc. The Draken has an underbelly exhaust but the test bike comes with an upswept side mounted setup for the exhaust end. The new Apache should come with fat forks, optional ABS, digital console with tachometer and mono shock suspension. The bike should be launched by the end of this year or whereabouts according to industry sources and experts.

The Apache RTR series launched by TVS was a huge hit amongst Indian bike enthusiasts. Most of the upgraded bikes sported purely cosmetic changes. Additionally, in recent times, KTM Duke and Yamaha R15 have moved ahead of TVS and the bike maker badly needs to catch up and rake up sales figures like its heydays once more. Industry experts are eagerly awaiting the launch of the new Apache especially in relation to the partnership between BMW Motorrad and TVS.
