Car will be sold exclusively through Nexa dealerships.
The S-Cross, has been launched starting at Rs 8.34 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available with two engine options and in five trim levels, and is the first model to be sold out of the Nexa showrooms.
The car is powered by a choice of a new 1.6-litre diesel engine badged DDiS320 and the tried and tested 1.3-litre diesel engine badged DdiS200. The larger 1.6-litre engine develops 118bhp and 32.6kgm of torque and is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox while the 1.3 develops 89bhp and 20.39kgm of torque and is mated to a fice-speed manual.
There are five trims to choose from — Sigma, Sigma (O), Delta, Zeta and Alpha – the top trim gets fitments like projector headlamps, rear parking sensors, reversing camera, climate control and Maruti’s SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system. It’s good to note that safety kit like dual front airbags and ABS is standard across all trims.
As the car will be sold from the Nexa dealerships, Maruti doesn’t expect to sell it in as much volume as its other models though it will mark a start for the company to move towards more premium products in the future.
