In a major boost for Mahindra & Mahindra, the Swaraj division of the company won four awards at the International Convention for Quality Control Circles that was held at South Korea. The company recently announced news of its win.
There were 257 participants globally at the Convention and the Swaraj Division Foundry (SDF) of Mahindra won gold while the manufacturing teams at Swaraj Engines (SEL) and Swaraj Division both received silver medals. Swaraj is the company’s acclaimed tractor division. According to the Chief Operating Officer, Swaraj Division, M&M, Viren Popli, the tractor brand Swaraj has again garnered recognition globally with regard to production and quality. These awards will boost employees and make them strive to offer even better tractor quality and reliability to customers.
From the launch of its Quality Circles (QC) in the year 2011, Swaraj Division Foundry, the gold winner, has already covered a whopping 50% of its entire workforce through a series of 24 QCs and the balance should be accomplished by the year 2017. Mahindra Swaraj commenced this QC drive to bolster self confidence of its employees and discover their hidden talents and potential. QCs were earlier restricted to just core manufacturing but have been extended to several other functions in recent times including quality, stores, new product development and maintenance. The Swaraj Division at Mahindra is also encouraging women participants in QCs as per the statement issued by the company.
This win has definitely done India proud and puts the limelight firmly back on Mahindra & Mahindra in a competitive tractor segment.
