Special Edition Honda CB150R Launched In Indonesia

Posted 8 years ago by QuikrCars | 3244 views

Honda launched the CB150R Streetfire in Indonesia earlier in August this year. The 150cc naked performance bike is based on the CBR150R engine platform. Owing to its success, Honda has launched a special edition of the Streetfire in Indonesia recently.

The new special edition Honda CB150R will be a limited edition model. The number of bikes to be rolled out has not been announced by Honda at the moment. The bike is priced at IDR 26.4 (INR 1.26 lakh) million which is IDR 104,800 (INR 5,000) premium over the standard version.

The new special edition Honda CB150R Streetfire features a striking red colour treatment for its diamond steel truss frame and wheels. The engine cover gets a golden finish and the headlamp features a new and more compact visor. The special edition Streetfire comes in two new paint schemes, Rapid White and Speedy Raptor Black which complement the red coloured underpinnings. Another additional feature on the new variant is the colour coordinated belly pan.

The new Honda CB150R features only the above mentioned cosmetic upgrades and does not feature any mechanical upgrades. It is powered by the same 149.16 cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve, single-cylinder engine as its standard variant. The engine develops a maximum power of 16.8 bhp at 9,000 rpm and a peak torque of 13.8 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission which propels the bike to a claimed top-end of 135 kmph and delivers a fuel efficiency of 40 km/l. The suspension is telescopic forks at the front paired with a monoshock unit at the rear. Braking is taken care of by single disc at the front with 2-piston Nissin callipers and single disc with single piston calliper at the rear.

The special edition Honda CB150R comes with a host of optional accessories. It includes pillion seat cowl, radiator and engine guards, new fender, tank pad, fuel-lid pad and other accessories.

With Yamaha poised to launch the Yamaha MT-15 to the Indian masses, it would be an appropriate time for Honda to take note and act upon. The Honda CB150R would be a great addition to Honda’s stable in India keeping in mind the success of the fully faired sibling, CBR150R. Honda has announced that there are many new models lined up for 2016. We believe that the CB150R could be one of the bikes that would come to the Indian shores. We might get more information regarding this at the upcoming Auto Expo in February 2016 which will take place in Delhi.
