This attractively designed vehicle will make use of the platform of the Renault Duster. The Grand Captur is also slated to be introduced in markets like Brazil and India. The car will be manufactured in local plants in both these countries. The Renault Grand Captur will be made at lowered costs owing to the use of the Duster platform unlike the Euro-spec variant that makes use of the Renault Clio platform. There will be new styling touches for greater differentiation from the European sibling while there will be a larger footprint for eventually accommodating a third seating row.

This car should be coming with the TCe 120 EDC and Energy TCe 90 as options in the petrol category and dCi 90 EDC and Energy dCi 90 in the diesel category. The car should also have 5 speed manual transmission or even a 6 speed EDC automatic gearbox according to sources. The car manufactured will be a little bigger in comparison to the Captur model in Europe. The AMT may substitute the EDC unit for the India variant and low maintenance costs are essential for customers. There will be AWD systems offered for the Russian market according to experts.
