DSK Benelli TNT 25 Launched In India

Posted 8 years ago by QuikrCars | 1218 views

Probably the last launch of the year, DSK Benelli as expected has brought in the TNT 25 to India at a very interesting price point. The DSK Benelli TNT 25 will be available in two options, one shod with MRF tyres and the other shod with Metzelers. The TNT 25 with the MRF’s has been priced at Rs. 1.68 lakh ex-showroom Delhi and Rs. 1.75 lakh ex-showroom Delhi for the Metzeler version. Powered by a 249cc single cylinder engine that produces 28 HP at 9,800 RPM and a max torque of 21.61 Nm at 8,000 RPM, the DSK Benelli TNT 25 surely has what it takes to prove to be a very exciting machine. Now a number that is more interesting is the kerb weight, at 159 kgs, it sure is going to be a pocket rocket.

How DSK Benelli has achieved such a brilliant pricing for the TNT 25 is by going the CKD way.  With the Completely-Knocked-Down route that attracts much less tax, DSK Benelli has ensured that their first mass volume motorcycle has the best chance of making a good impression in the Indian market. But the best part has to be the fact that, from what we could see, no corners have been cut to achieve this price. The DSK Benelli TNT 25 gets adjustable levers, USD forks, mono-shock suspensions, fuel injection, a 6 speed gear box and a 17 litre capacity fuel tank. The tyre sizes are 110/70 – 17 at the front and 150/60 – 17 at the rear and being a 250cc engine, we estimate a real world mileage around the 30 kmpl mark. The ground clearance of the 160mm is just about right and but it still means that you will have to take those odd speed breakers with a little extra bit of caution.

Of-course we would always recommend you to go for the higher spec Metzeler tyres. These tyres have proved their worth in all sorts of conditions. While the life cycle of the tyre is lesser than the MRF, what it does give you is much better handling and riding confidence. The DSK Benelli TNT 25 will be initially available in two main colour options with different graphic choices, but DSK Benelli promise that once the sales commence they will surely bring in more colour options as per feedback from the dealerships. ABS does not make it to the TNT 25, it will be added only late next year, right before it becomes mandatory. At that point of time the entire DSK Benelli range will be upgraded to a newer ABS system.
