Audi Markets Q7 Despite Delhi Ban

Posted 8 years ago by QuikrCars | 189 views

The Supreme Court order banning registrations of new diesel vehicles and SUVs above 2000cc in Delhi-NCR for three and half months from January 1st has already hit automobile companies hard. However, Audi is still promoting its Q7 in the Capital and is also continuing its test drives. Audi is running advertisements for promoting the new generation Q7 full size SUV in Delhi-NCR and is also inviting bookings for test drives from customers.

It is natural that the brand may take a little time to change its media plan. However, the continuation of the test drives is surprising and a mystery. These drives can still be booked through the Audi site. The 11 page order by the bench including Chief Justice of India, TS Thakur, concluded that these premium diesel vehicles were reasons for higher pollution levels. The decision has kept the entire market for new and second hand cars on tenterhooks. Buying a used Toyota Fortuner in Delhi or other SUVs like the Q7 would be risky till the March deadline ends.

The company has also been marketing sponsored posts of the Q7 SUV to Delhi-NCR profiles. Audi India has not issued any comments till now. The company’s media plan is taken care of by Mediacom and the company is currently reviewing its creative partner. The creative duties were earlier handled by Kennedy + Wieden. Audi was gearing up in full force for this new launch and possesses huge expectations from this car. The Audi Q7 comes with two variants, namely Q7 Technology priced at INR 77.5 lakh and Q7 Premium Plus priced at INR 72 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi and Mumbai).
