Upcoming Car: Honda BR-V

Honda’s new SUV is the BR-V, which will be launched in early 2016. This is a new seven-seater compact SUV that will be priced around INR 10-14 lakhs (ex-showroom). This is based on the Brio-platform and it uses the underpinnings of the Mobilio. The BR-V is definitely a lot more muscular in styling and rugged too. The BR-V has a lot more muscular arches, there is a new chrome grille with new headlamps, there is some chrome at the rear as well.

The interiors of the BR-V isn’t shared with the Brio family. It gets the City interiors that makes it look premium. The BR-V has black and grey interiors and this makes this SUV look sporty. The BR-V will come loaded with features like keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, satellite navigation system, AC vents for all three rows, dual airbags and even ABS. The BR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter petrol i-VTEC engine that produces 117bhp and six-speed manual transmission and CVT (continuously variable transmission) and 1.5-liter diesel engine (i-DTEC) and this is will produce 98bhp and will also come mated to a six-speed manual transmission.

The Honda BR-V will be next major launch for the Japanese automaker. This will be competing with the Renault Duster, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Terrano, Tata Safari Storme and the Mahindra Scorpio. Honda’s is the only one that is a monocoque chassis and a seven-seater in this segment.
