About the car

The Volkswagen Polo was launched in 2010 and was was one of the most awaited cars in the country. The Polo brought in a sort of sophistication that was never present in its segment earlier. Volkswagen had spent a large sums of money on various marketing activities in building the brand for Volkswagen and Polo. The Polo is a premium hatchback and feels the same, specially on the inside. It gets high-quality plastics which doesn’t just look but even feels rich. The front row seats are large and supportive in the Polo with ample headroom and legroom in the front row but the second row is very tight on knee-room and overall leg-room. The car was also not very feature laden as compared to some competition cars.

The Polo came with a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder and 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine options and a 1.2-litre diesel. The 1.2-litre diesel isn’t very peppy as compared to some of its competition and it makes you work for it. The petrol engines are tuned for better fuel efficiency, while the diesel engine has some amount of turbo lag, but is highly fuel-efficient. The Volkswagen Polo has a very contemporary design, is built on the PQ25 platform which is rigid, strong and at the same time, light. The Polo gets a very well sorted suspension set-up in its segment. The ride is well composed even at low and high speeds and the hatchback also handles pretty well.

What to look for:

The Polo has a service interval of 15000kms, but the oil level goes low especially in diesel. The chin of the Polo is very low hence always check for the underbody damage or a scraped bumper.

Frequently replaced parts price:

  • Front Bumper- Rs.2498
  • Rear Bumper- Rs.4243
  • Headlamp Assly.- Rs.1828
  • Tail Lamp Assly.- Rs.5164
