Posted 8 years ago by QuikrCars | 1026 views

Hyundai is gearing up to launch a new MPV for the Indian car market. This new MPV will be based on the Hyundai Grand i10 platform and it will be competing with the Honda Mobilio and the Renault Lodgy. Hyundai doesn’t even have a single MPV in India at the moment and this will be its first one that will be a seven-seater and a bit longer than four metres.

The Hyundai MPV hasn’t been named yet and it will be coming with a 1.4-liter petrol engine and a 1.4-liter diesel engine too. Both these engines will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Hyundai will price it between INR 6.5 lakhs to INR 9.5 lakhs (ex-showroom pricing). This new MPV will have interiors similar to that on the Grand i10, however there will be some more features too. This will help the Hyundai MPV to differentiate from the Grand i10 and the XCent. Hyundai has entered the taxi market first with the Santro and now the XCent. This new MPV also a good scope in the UV segment for commercially used vehicles.

Hyundai will be offering features like keyless entry, push start and stop, touchscreen infotainment system, reverse parking camera, satellite navigation, 1GB hard drive, dual airbags and ABS. The Hyundai MPV has been designed for the Indian car market and hence it will have spacious second and third rows. Then there will rear AC vents mostly even for the third row as well. The second and third row seats will have recliners while the second row could be sliced as well.

Specifications:

Engine: 1.4-litre petrol, 1.4-litre diesel

Power: 90bhp

Transmission: Six-speed manual transmission

Seats: Seven seater MPV
